Truffles and Treats Master Class a Delicious Success

Haworth Fairtrade Group held another successful event on Friday 30th November. Sandy Docherty, a former contestant on the Great British Bake Off, and expert bread maker Mike Armstrong, aka “Baker Mike”,  conducted a Truffles and Treats Master Class to support fundraising for West Lane Baptist Chapel community kitchen.

Sandy and Mike wowed the audience with their superb skills and delicious bakes. They showed just how easy it is to make beautiful food incorporating fair trade ingredients.

A big thank you to our local Oxenhope Co-op and the folks at Divine Chocolates for the scrumptious chocolates and goodies they provided to help make the evening a success.

The next Haworth Fair Trade village event¬† is a walk from Thornton to Haworth on Patrick Bronte’ s birthday, 17 March 2019. This event, held in collaboration with the Bronte Parsonage, will highlight Patrick’s work in bringing sanitation to Haworth and fighting for workers rights; issues which are still central to the Fair Trade movement today.
